Tepat tanggal 14 Februari 2014 ketika saya membuka pintu kamar penginapan, saya dikejutkan oleh warna langit yang gelap. Awan mendung? Mungkin. Saya tidak mempedulikannya dan kembali ke kamar penginapan. Tidak lama pintu kamar saya diketuk oleh seseorang. Ternyata seorang pelayan penginapan yang mengantarkan makanan untuk saya.
Exact date of February 14, 2014 when I opened the door of room inn, I'm struck by the dark color of the sky. The clouds? Possible. I do not care about it and get back to the lodge room. Not long knock on my door by someone. Turns out a waitress who deliver food to me.

"Mas, sudah punya masker?", tanya sang pelayan kepada saya.
"Untuk apa mas?", tanya saya balik.
"Gunung Kelud meletus tadi malam mas. Abunya sampai kesini.", lanjut sang pelayan.
Gunung Kelud? Bukan kah Gunung Kelud ada di Kediri Jawa Timur? Saya sedikit tidak percaya. Saya tidak terlalu mempedulikannya. Rencana saya pagi ini hanya membeli tiket kereta untuk kembali ke Surabaya.
Mount Kelud? Did not Mount Kelud in Kediri, East Java? I do not believe. I do not seem to mind. My plan this morning just to buy a train ticket to go back to Surabaya.

Ternyata abu vulkanik Gunung Kelud sudah menutupi jalan-jalan di depan penginapan. Saya sangat terkejut. Tapi saya harus membeli tiket kereta di stasiun. Apa boleh buat saya segera kembali ke kamar untuk mengambil jaket dan masker dan segera bergegas menuju stasiun Yogyakarta. Sepanjang perjalanan saya melihat abu vulkanik menutupi jalan-jalan di kota Yogyakarta. Sangat tebal. Bahkan kendaraan tidak ada yang berani melaju kencang.

What can make me right back to my room to take a jacket and mask and immediately went to Yogyakarta station. Along the way I look at volcanic ash covered the streets of the city. Very thick. In fact no one dared vehicle speeding.

After I arrived at my station ticket queue immediately. I thought I would run out of tickets because ticket queues are very crowded train. What I have stuck here much longer? Actually it does not matter. The problem is the money in my wallet and atm that will not be enough if I stuck a few more days. But thank God I get a ticket to Surabaya this afternoon.

Ini beberapa gambar yang saya ambil di sepanjang jalan Malioboro. Debu vulkanik Gunung Kelud menutupi seluruh tempat yang saya lalui. Jalan Malioboro yang biasanya ramai kali ini sepi. Hampir tidak ada orang yang lalu lalang seperti hari biasanya.

Sepertinya hujan abu vulkanik Gunung Kelud telah menutupi seluruh kota Yogyakarta. Namun sepertinya para wisatawan malah menikmati fenomena ini. Terbukti setelah saya kembali ke penginapan justru saya menemukan banyak wisatawan yang mengabadikan fenomena ini ke dalam foto.
